No dirt, no dogs.

We take responsibility for our carbon footprint...

We are aware of the climate impact of both producing dog food and transporting it to your door. But Buddy wants to be a strong and positive force for the environment. That's why we are currently working on several projects to promote positive and sustainable dog food consumption. For example...

...by compensating for more than we emit...

We should always offset more than we impact. First, we calculate exactly how much carbon dioxide is produced when we cook, package and ship food. Then we compensate for a higher level of carbon dioxide than we actually caused. So that nature is a little better off after our production than before.

...and supports local community development.

Our climate compensation should also do good for society. We only offset through Gold Standard-certified projects*, which means that the projects not only improve the environment, for example through tree planting and investments in wind and hydro power. They also improve the local community, by providing jobs, developing schools and donating energy-efficient stoves to families living in poverty.

This is The Gold Standard*

Founded in 2003 by WWF (World Wildlife Foundation) and other international NGOs to promote the global reduction of carbon emissions.

Using the Paris Agreement and its sustainability goals, the Gold Standard created real-world guidelines for companies to follow with the goal of maximizing impact.

In total, The Gold Standard has led +1700 projects in 80 countries, reducing a total of 134 million tonnes of carbon emissions. The total value of these reductions is estimated at $20.5 billion.

Through the company Go Climate, which works to promote WWF and the Gold Standard, we ensure that Buddy Pet Foods has a long-term positive impact on the environment and our planet. Our goal is to be completely climate neutral by 2025.
