Fresh, healthy and tasty food makes us happier and healthier. For us humans, the bar for good food is constantly being raised and it's great to see. Unfortunately, the feed industry is not keeping up. To maintain high margins, bags are filled with cheap fillers, by-products and artificial additives. Then they gather dust on store shelves, sometimes around a year before serving. If people knew how much nutrient-poor fillers such as corn, wheat and soy are put into mass-produced food, they would probably never buy it again. No thanks we say, bad dog food really upsets us!
Natural ingredients in every dog bowl
Your dog deserves better than an outdated mix of grains, sugar and soy. That's why we teamed up with smart and dedicated vets, chefs and nutritionists to change the food industry. The result is Buddy Pet Foods - a collection of healthy meals and snacks full of fresh & tasty ingredients. Without additives, of course.
For us, it is also important that we work with suppliers who can ensure good animal care and high quality. Therefore, we have chosen to use free-range animals.
How we cook dog food
No thanks to dyes, sugar, soy, cereals, gluten, GMOs and cheap fillers!
Expect a good dose of essential fatty acids (omega-3 and omega-6) that provide smooth skin and a beautiful coat, among other things.
Our delicious and crunchy balls contribute to good dental hygiene and fresh breath.
Every meal, packaging and delivery is always offset more than it impacts.
A happy stomach makes for a happy dog, which is why vitamins, minerals and amino acids thrive in all our dishes - no matter which menu is recommended.
Of course, we have tasted it (to be honest, our principle is to only make dog food that we could eat ourselves).
Fresh + dried = super combo
We use both fresh and air-dried meat in our food. Fresh meat has the most natural nutrition and is easy to digest, making it easier for your dog's stomach to absorb all the nutrients. Plus, fresh meat tastes really, really good.
Air-dried meat offers a delicious mix of essential nutrients such as proteins, minerals and amino acids. What's more, air drying naturally keeps bacteria away, so you don't need to add preservatives. The flavors are also concentrated and developed thanks to the water loss. Much like a well-aged prosciutto!
The combination of fresh and air-dried meat allows us to use more fresh raw materials and less processed ingredients. The water from the fresh meat evaporates, leaving a similar amount of moisture as if it were dried meat. With this method, we do not need to add additional water in the process to moisturize the raw material.
Where the dog food is made
We are happy and proud to prepare our food in one of Europe's most modern facilities. The factory located in the Czech Republic uses a lower pressure and lower temperature extrusion technology to ensure a higher natural nutrition in its dry food.
The facility is both ISO 9001 and HACCP certified. A couple of complicated but important acronyms that assure us of two things: that the food is prepared in a safe and hygienic way. But also that the facility itself is of the highest quality, thanks to tough checks by an independent party. We think that's great!
