    • Information you provide when using our site (e.g. name, contact details, product reviews and information you enter on your page).

    • Transaction and billing data, e.g. if you make a purchase from us via our site (e.g. credit card details and delivery information).

    • Correspondence you had with us (e.g. if you contacted customer services or interacted with us via social media).

    • Information you provided when participating in competitions or answering surveys.

    • Information we collect automatically via cookies or other tracking tools (e.g. which websites you have visited and whether you have clicked on a link in our newsletter). We may also collect information about the device you used to visit our site.

    • Other information you provide when you visit our site, such as your location when you visit our site, subject to your consent.

In addition, if you shop in our store, we may combine information you provide in the store (e.g. if you make a purchase or sign up for our newsletter) with the information above.

How do we use this data?

Depending on how you use our site, how you interact with us, and what you allow us to access, the purpose for which we collect this data will vary:

    • To complete your order and maintain your account on our site.

    • Managing and responding to questions and complaints received by our customer service.

    • To personalize the site according to your preferences and display the content we think you are most interested in, based on your data, purchase history and browsing history.

    • To improve and maintain the quality of our site and to monitor its use.

    • For market research, e.g. we may contact you for feedback on our products.

    • To send you advertising and direct mail where you have agreed or are otherwise permitted to do so.

    • For security reasons, e.g. to investigate fraud and, if necessary, to protect us or our subcontractors.

    • To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

We refer to the following legal bases, under the Data Protection Act, regarding our right to process your personal data:

    • Because it is necessary to process personal data to establish a contract with you, or to prepare a contract with you (e.g. we use your personal data to carry out payment and purchase when you place an order with us).

    • Because we have received your consent (e.g. when you contact our customer service, when you add information about you to your profile, or when you agree to us sending you advertising).

    • Because it is in our legal interest as an online shop to maintain and provide our services. We always want to know more about our customers' needs and wishes in order to offer the best possible products and customer experience. We use information about you to tailor your experience on our site, to make it more interesting and relevant in terms of products and offers for you.

On our site you may be invited to add information about your pet such as information about your pet's breed, weight, name and activity level. We treat this information with care but information about your pet is not considered personal data.

Marketing

We love communicating with our customers and therefore, depending on your advertising preferences, we may use your personal data to send you advertising via email, telephone or post. Some of these communications may be tailored to you, based on your browsing history, purchase history or other information we hold about you.

If you no longer wish to receive advertising and/or offers from us (or, on the contrary, wish to receive them again!), you can notify us at any time by contacting us (see details below), clicking on "unsubscribe" in any of our newsletters. If you unsubscribe from our newsletter, we may still contact you with service information (e.g. order and delivery confirmation and information about your rights).

You may also be exposed to advertising for us on other sites and social media. These ads may be tailored to you through the collection of data via cookies (which record your browsing history, enabling us to serve ads to people who have visited our site). If you see ads on social media, it may be due to partnerships with social media users with followers that match the demographic profile of our customers. In some cases, this marketing may involve sharing your email address with this network. If you no longer want to see targeted ads, you can change your cookie and privacy settings in your browser and on the respective site/app.

Who gets access to this information?

We share customers' personal data with subcontractors as follows:

    • With our subcontractors and companies that provide services to us, such as payment processors and shipping companies.

    • With our business advisers and lawyers.

    • With subcontractors working to prevent and detect the occurrence of fraud.

    • With the police or other government authorities, e.g. to report fraud or in accordance with a mandatory request.

    • Where we sell any part of our business, personal data about our customers may be made visible to a potential buyer. In this case, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the buyer complies with the terms of the privacy policy.

    • In other contexts where we have your consent or are otherwise legally entitled to do so.

Warehousing and storage

We use subcontractors based around the world. As a result, your personal data may be processed in countries outside Europe, including countries where you have a lower level of legal protection for your personal data than in your home country. If we send personal data outside the European Economic Area, we will, as we are legally obliged to do, ensure that your privacy rights are adequately protected, preferably under the EU standard contractual clauses. You are welcome to contact us if you want to know more about this protection.

We will keep your personal data for as long as we need it in accordance with the above stated purpose, which means that the duration will vary depending on your interactions with us. For example, if you have made a purchase with us, we will keep your data for as long as required for billing, tax and insurance purposes. We may also keep correspondence with you (for example, if you made a complaint about a product) for as long as necessary to protect us from legal claims. When we no longer need to keep information, we will delete it. Please note that we will keep your email address even if you unsubscribe from our newsletter, to ensure that we do not send the newsletter to your address in the future.
